Kisii activist and writer Agnes Makori is worried that the country is heading in the wrong direction citing that if the trend continues there may be Post Election Violence (PEV) in 2017.
She said leaders are igniting tribal hatred and animosity ahead of the 2017 poll.
“With this trend of utterances by politicians igniting tribal wars am worried we may not evade violence come 2017,” she said.
She adds that politicians have become greedy, power hungry and advocating for tribal wars.
“Some leaders cannot tolerate peace in this country. As much as we are trying to preach peace some are preaching hate speech and tribalism. This is very sad,” said makori.
She now calls upon leaders of both parties to foster unity.
“We have a duty as leaders to ensure we foster peace. We should hold hands together and not let politics divide us and move forward as Kenyan, not different tribes,” she said.
