Kiambu youths and other residents engaged in betting have been discouraged from over-reliance on betting and regarding gambling as a full time economic activity.
Brian Walucho from Lotto Group has said that many youths have been wasting their valuable time on betting platforms, which may have a negative impact on their lives and society in general.
"We are not saying that betting is bad, but when you over-indulge, it becomes dangerous. We discourage especially those who take loans with a sole aim of betting," said Walucho in Witeithie on Thursday.
He said that youths and other members of the public should engage in responsible betting and not substituting their lives with gambling.
"We have heard of cases where some gamblers even forego meals or other important personal or family responsibilities just to bet. It should not be that way because betting is a side-kick activity meant for fun," he added.
He said that they will continue to enlighten the public on how to go about responsible betting without risking their personal finances or that of their families.
