Good Friday marks the remembrance of the Passion of Christ.
A day where most Christians especially Catholics follow the way of the cross and spend the day singing, praying and reflecting on the way forward, asking for atonement.
There are various lessons we can extract from the event as a country. These ought to be the best ways to look forward to every Easter season.
1.Sacrificing for others
How much can we do to show our commitment to others. Christ offered his life for humanity. We can't die for others may be, but we can make efforts to put a smile on a sombre face. Bump into that children's home, help. Spot that street kid, help. It matters not how little one offers as long as you do it from the heart.
2.Beware that the inner circle is the principal enemy
The bunch that you rely on knows you inside out. Trustees are the worst nightmare in case of 'trading'. Judas sold his rabbi a few coins and a kiss! Be cautious lest you suffer the Judases in your life!
3. Test your best friends during trouble
Peter denied his teacher three times! He did't imagine that he should suffer the same tribulations by confirming to know Jesus. Most a times, we may be feasting by dining and wining together but when trouble dawns, we are left. Know your best friends during troubles!
4. No matter how good you do, you'll be tortured. This man fed them, made the blind see, had their sick healed, raised their dead and even made their wedding exciting by giving them wine! But they cried in unison, Crucify him! Crucify him!
5.Your Success is a pain to some characters
Some people will pull your pants down regardless of your goodness. The Pharisees were more than disappointed by the mission of Christ. He was corrupting their followers. Competition is not a welcome to most people. Beware your enemies will be always drafting your downfall.
6.Humility pays,be humble
According to the Bible, Jesus had the power to fight his opponents but he opted to allow them shine. His rise and greatness was cemented by His humility. Let them hurt you,but let not your spirit be messed. The reward is better than resistance.
7. Honesty pays
The thief who rebuked his partner and admitted that they deserved to be crucified unlike Jesus, was promised a better place in glory. It pays to be honest no matter how tough the situation is. Happy Easter Good People! Photo caption:An Easter Season celebrations photo. Source. dodd.com
