After a quite silent now Kisii unity team lead by Senator Chris Obure and Deputy Governor Joash Maangi have come out strongly endorsing former CIC chairman Charles Nyachae for Kisii senatorial seat come 2017.
Addressing residents at Nyanguru in Nyaribari Chache constituency on Sunday during a fund drive for 22 Churches, the unity leaders said that they have endorsed Nyachae for the top seat so that he can go and bargain for the community once elected.
Deputy Governor Joash Maangi who is the organizing secretary to the group said that as the lobby group has endorsed Nyachae since he is capable of clinching the seat come 2017.
Maangi added that Charles Nyachae, if elected, has more chances of him appointed majority leader or Speaker of the Senate
"As the unity team we have confidence that our brother Nyachae has all qualifications for the senatorial seat and once elected we except him to be give a senior position which will make us proud as the community," said Maangi.
Senator obure who is going for gubernatorial seat come 2017 also supported the endorsement by saying that unity is power and they believe that Charles will win the senatorial seat as well.
Nyachae who was at his home ground challenged the Nyaribari people to support him come 2017 so that they can develop the county and also support Uhuruto.
Nyachae being one of the Jubilee campaigners challenged the Kisii community to support the reelection of Uhuruto.
"As my brothers have said that I should go for the senatorial seat, I wish also to urge residents to support Uhuru and Ruto for the second term," Nyachae said.
Nyachae also used the platform to say that he is the only man from Kisii land who can access the president anytime.
