Bahati CDF Bursary is fighting to save face after a resident, Njoroge Kiiru sensentionally claimed that it is being used to reward girlfriends and mistresses of CDF officials.
In a Facebook post on the page 'Bahati Ni Kwetu', Njoroge claimed a student was awarded Sh50,000, yet he was undeserving as his mother was a teacher.
CDF chairman Anthony Njui furiously defended the CDF Bursary Committee and claimed all cases were deserving and above board.
He further accused Njoroge of perpetuating a personal attack on him, saying he was a respected member of the society and a family man who respected family values.
An aspiring MP Crispus Wathimba further pressed the chairman to acknowledge the bursary awards were skewed, but the chairman could not prove otherwise.
It's worth noting that the chairman did not acknowledge or deny Njoroge's claims, but instead chose to defend his character.
Many applicants claimed that bursary allocations were favouring some, with some deserving people getting as little as Sh3,000, and some getting as high as Sh50,000.
The bursary allocations are proving to be a new battle front for the race for Bahati Constituency seat, with aspirants capitalising on the alleged inconsistencies.
However, many residents hope that the allegations will be quickly investigated and those culpable fired and brought to book.
