The ICT lab is part of a project by Safaricom to embrace technology in rural areas whereby they will be opening one ICT lab in every county in the country.

The project named THE 47 IN 1 PROJECT is set to help young people through learning computer skills and technology.

The lab which is the only lab in Machakos County will be open to be used by the community should be handled with care according to ICT Manager of Safaricom Thibaud Rerolle who was commissioning the project.

"The ICT lab which is the first in Machakos county will be used by young people to advance their knowledge on technology and basic computer skills whereas it is open to the community and we expect it to be added with great care," said Rerolle.

However, Rerolle challenged women to embrace technology whereby he pointed out that a large number of women are still behind when it comes to matters of technology.
