President Uhuru Kenyatta says he will hand power peacefully should he lose elections to opposition in August.
He also urged the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to hold free and fair elections in accordance to the constitution.
The opposition team led by Raila Odinga, has often accused the government of colluding with IEBC to bungle 2017 elections.
"I have no intention at all to rig elections because I believe in the rule of law. IEBC should hold elections that will satisfy all contestants," he told his supporters in Nyeri on Friday.
"Let all those competing face the people because they will have the ultimate say. I am ready to hand over power if I lose because elections is not a matter of life and death," he added.
In a rare campaign trail, void of fireworks, Uhuru urged Kenyans to make use of mass voter registration to exercise their constitutional right of voting leaders of their own choice.
