Orange Democratic Movement party treasurer Timothy Bosire has taken a swipe at Deputy President William Ruto, in reference to his recent attack on Raphael Tuju.
Last week, Dr Ruto accused Mr Tuju of working closely with ODM leader Raila Odinga to scuttle Jubilee party from within, a claim which the father Rarieda MP denies.
As a result, Ruto's foot soldiers are calling for resignation of Mr Tuju, arguing that his position in Jubilee as Secretary General is no longer tenable.
But Bosire now cautions Kenyans against Dr Ruto's behavior, arguing that he's a dictator who does not want to embrace contrary opinion.
"In fact, Ruto should be the last person to condemn Tuju. One, for being a worse culprit of the “mistake” and two, for being the principal assistant of President Uhuru Kenyatta, whom the Constitution compels to unite Kenyans and protect the Bill of Rights (freedom of association)," he said on Sunday.
In his argument, the former Kitutu Masaba MP accused Ruto of double speak, saying that he has also betrayed parties before as a sign of lacking respect to democratic principles.
"Sometimes around 2008, he betrayed ODM and Raila and started flirting with a faction within the then ruling Party of National Unity, for which he was sponsored to oppose the 2010 Constitution referendum when Raila and ODM backed it fully," he said.
Also, Bosire said Ruto has been an architect in destruction of parties, giving an example on poaching of Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa from ODM party.
He said the DP should be the last person to lecture people about democracy, arguing that his 'hidden' dictatorial tendencies are bad for the growth of liberalism.
