Tiaty Member of Parliament William Kassait Kamket has lavished praises on Thirdway Alliance party leader Dr Ekuru Aukot following the successful collection of signatures in support of the Punguza Mizigo Bill.
Speaking in his Taity Constituency on Sunday, the outspoken legislator and a strong critic of Deputy President Dr William Ruto said that Dr Aukot had helped raise the profile of Tiaty Constituency.
"I want to congratulate a man from my constituency called Ekuru Aukot who has worked hard to get 1 million signatures from Kenya so as to change the constitution. Mimi nataka kupongeza mtu ya constituency ya Tiaty anaitwa Ekuru Aukot ambaye ameng'ang'ana mpaka amepata signatures ya wakenya milioni moja ili kubadilisha katiba," the Tiaty legislator said.
Mr Kamket said the the Thirdway Alliance supremo had made history through his bill that will significantly reduce political representation in the country.
The Tiaty legislator said he would support some aspects of the bill and not others.
Among the aspects he said he would not support is the reduction of constituencies, saying that MPs playing an important part in representing the people of Kenya.
MCAs across the 47 counties in the country will have the opportunity to decide on the fate of the bill by voting on it.
For the bill to sail through it must be supported by at least 24 county assemblies.
