Governor Jama's bid to defend his current title at the county leadership has suffered a major blow, after his close ally Mohamed Hassan Mohamed received endorsement to deputize Ali Korane in the race towards the top county job.
Mohamed Hassan, who is also the current Chief Officer-Trade works in governor Jama's administration was endorsed by Top Sama and Sinwaq community elders owing to his political influence that is expected to earn Korane early win come next year's elections.
Korane's bid towards unseating Jama is fast gaining momentum, with more communities offering to rally behind him. On Sunday, community elites and businessmen from Maharane community convened a closed door discussion in Nairobi where they endorsed his candidacy with that of the Garissa Township MP Duale Aden.
Among the factors that have named as being responsible for Korane's massive is the alleged 'incompetence' in the current leadership worsened by occasional problems in the water department and graft cases in the county executive.
