According to the standardmedia.co.ke, the speaker acted in lieu of a report tabled in the assembly on June 30, and prepared by the powers and privileges committee that recommended the reinstatement of the suspended MCAs for reconciliation to begin.

Speaking in the county assembly precincts, Thadius Rajwayi took it upon himself to forgive them.

The suspended MCAs were: Mohamed Hatimy (nominated), Swaleh Kibwana (Miritini), Fadhili Mwalimu (Port Reitz) and Saad Faraj.

"I have forgiven Mr Hatimy and his team linked to the county assembly disorder that led to the Speaker's portrait brought down and the fist fights taking centre stage in the assembly chambers," said Speaker Rajwayi.

The speaker directed the clerk of the county assembly to pursue a peaceful return of the suspended MCAs and also ensure a reconciliation process kicks off in earnest.
