Nairobi women representative Rachael Shebesh has lashed at the opposition for their recent criticism of the Afya House scandal where President Uhuru Kenyatta's close relatives were allegedly engaged in embezzling public funds.
Speaking in a meeting at Emining in Baringo county on Monday, Shebesh said the opposition was trying to campaign against the development of women.
She also accused Cord leader Raila Odinga of creating imaginary scandals in the country.
"The Cord leader is good at creating imaginary scandals in the country. He should let investigations take place accordingly. The president's relatives have a right to do business with the government," said Shebesh.
Shebesh joins a host of other Jubilee legislators who have been in the defense of President Kenyatta's administration over the tendering of a company belonging to President Uhuru's sister and cousin.
The Afya House scandal becomes the first major graft case under the Jubilee government.
