The governor of the Elgeyo Marakwet county Eng Alex Tanui Tolgos has said that plans for Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) meetings in the Rift Valley are ongoing.
Speaking to members of the press on Friday, the county boss said that the plan was to have the meetings in Uasin Gishu and Nakuru counties.
"We are in the process of planning to have one meeting in Nakuru county and another one in Eldoret. (Tuko tunapanga tuwe na mkutano mmoja kule Nakuru na pia kutakuwa na mpango ingine kule Eldoret ili kuweza kuleta wananchi pamoja)," the Elgeyo Marakwet county boss said.
It was not immediately clear from the governor's remarks exactly when the Rift Valley BBI meetings will be held.
Tolgos' words come amid building anticipation for the BBI meeting to be held in Mombasa at the Mama Ngina Waterfront Park having been moved from the Tononoka Grounds.
The Mombasa meeting continues to generate a lot of heat that has seen politicians allied to Deputy President Dr William Ruto and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga exchange harsh words.
Mr Odinga's allies warned the members of the Tanga Tanga group against disrupting the meeting on Saturday.
Ruto's allies had announced, in a dramatic reversal, that they would attend the upcoming BBI meetings.
