On Wednesday, Assembly Speaker Douglas Mbilu said that the MCAs are no longer ready to tolerate laziness at the expense of the growth of the people.

He said action will be taken against any executive proven to be sleeping on their jobs.

Mbilu alluded that there is a motion underway to lock out the lazy officials from the government for the sake of better service delivery in the near future.

“This assembly will recommend withdrawal of their entitlements and their four-wheeled vehicles if those vehicles are not noticed visiting the electorate because that is what they are paid to do,” the assembly speaker said as quoted by the Star.

The declaration came after a concern was raised over the performance of the health docket.

Nominated MCA Martina Ngusye had presented a report on the condition of a health centre in Kiimakiu-Kalanzoni ward in Kilome but the county assembly rejected the same.

The MCAs said that it is evident that the patients are no longer seeking medical help from the facility, which is a clear indicator someone is not doing their job right.

They have affirmed that they will not be taken for a ride as long as they remain in office.
