County commissioner promises to deal with gangsters terrorising Subaru and Action estate residents
Uasin Gishu County commissioner Abdirisack Jaldesa has vowed to deal with gangsters terrorising residents in Subaru and Action estates.
He says more police officers will be deployed in the said estates to ensure residents lives are not at stake.
"I want to give a stern warning to gangsters terrorising Subaru and Action estate residents that their days are numbered. They should either surrender and look for alternative jobs or face the full force of the law," he warned.
Speaking to Hivisasa on Tuesday in his office, Jaldesa said police will also conduct regular patrols in the affected areas to ensure that the gangsters are arrested and charged.
He, however, blamed residents for the increased insecurity saying despite them knowing gangsters in their midst, they never share the information with police.
"As the chairman of the security committee, we are poised to fight gangsters stealing from residents but we urge them to help us by reporting those individuals you suspect to be criminals and we promise to take stern action against them," added Jaldesa.
He called upon residents to embrace Nyumba Kumi Initiative.
This comes after Subaru and Action residents protested the increased rate of muggings and robberies in the area.
