Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has dismissed claims of a looming Coalition for Reforms and Democracy fall-out following Saturday's Kakamega fracas.
The event was marred with chaos and has attracted condemnation from top leadership in the country with Deputy President William Ruto leading the onslaught.
But Mr Bosire dismissed the claims of discord within the leading opposition coalition as ‘featherweight’ and warned Jubilee coalition against meddling in the coalition's affairs.
“I have heard media reports about what happened in Kakamega and I think we are getting it all wrong. It was just a featherweight problem which will be fixed by us internally,” Bosire said on Sunday.
“Jubilee is trying to get political capital by inciting ODM and Ford Kenya supporters against each other. We are stronger than ever and they should desist from meddling in our affairs. Cord is strong and no one can split it,” he added.
While it is not clear why Cord Principal Raila Odinga skipped the event even after reports indicating that he was among the invited guests, the ODM national Treasurer vindicated his party boss by terming his schedule ‘busy’.
“It was our wish as Cord that he attended but we must put in mind that he has a busy schedule. It is a light issue which should not be a subject of debate,” said Bosire.
Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula has said Mr Odinga never hinted that he won’t miss the launch as intended.
