Josephine Kabura’s appearance before the National Assembly Public Accounts Committee to give answers on the Sh791 million NYS fraud turned dramatic as frustrated MPs turned to Bible verses.
The grilling ended with MPs reading three Bible verses to their witness.
To advise Kabura on where to store her riches, Tongaren MP Eseli Simiyu read Mathew 6:19, which says; "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal".
Bomachoge Borabu MP Joel Onyancha read Proverbs 19: 9 to caution Kabura against false testimony.
Also committee chairman Nicholas Gumbo turned to read John 8:32 on truth setting Kabura free.
