The national football team Harambee Stars on Saturday jetted back into their country after their stellar performance in Alexandria, against the Pharaohs of Egypt.
The Stars landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Saturday afternoon.
Addressing the media moments after touchdown, Stars head coach Francis Kimanzi hailed the focus of the players, in spite of the wrangles between the Federation Kenya Football (FKF) president Nick Mwendwa and Sports Ministry officials.
"I congratulate the team for staying focused despite the circus that was going on in the FKF and the Ministry of Sports," Kimanzi said.
Kenya is set to face the Sparrowhawks of Togo on Monday, in what promises to be a nail-biting encounter between the two sides, as they continue their African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification campaign.
Kenya held the Egyptians to a 1-1 draw and are in second place after the Comoros who beat Togo in a shock victory.
The equaliser was scored by Kashiwa Reysol's Michael Olunga who found the back of the net in the second half of the game.
It is hoped that the draw against the former African champions, will give Stars the much needed confidence to prevail against the Sparrowhawks of Togo.
