As it is, Uhuru and Raila are on record saying that constitutional amendments by way of the referendum is a must if the country is to remain united.

However, former Lagdera MP Farah Maalim is seemingly in agreement with the duo, a thing that is likely to spark speculations as to whether he is secretly working for the duo.

Going by one of his latest social media posts, it is now a fact that Maalim is for the proposed referendum. However, his main concern is to tame the Parliament from exploiting the taxpayers.

"Nobody in public office should have a role in determining how much is enough for him or her. The salaries & remuneration commission must be shielded from rogue parliaments through a constitutional amendment. Independent commissions must be truly independent. MPs' overly overpaid," Maalim said in a tweet.

Given the massive following that the former MP enjoys in the expansive North Eastern region, it will not be a surprise to see Uhuru and Raila work with him in popularising the referendum campaigns in the region.
