Popular comedian cum TV presenter Vincent Muasya Mutua famously known as Chipukeezy recently sent a strong piece of advice to young upcoming artists.
Speaking during his talk show that airs on Ebru TV, Chipukeezy insisted that being an artiste is not all about fame and publicity stunts.
Chipukeezy made the remarks when he hosted his colleague Eric Omondi whom he used as an example to the young upcoming artists.
"Art is not all about being a celebrity and having hairstyles such as this one of Eric. You can see this guy right now here pretending to be a celebrity but tomorrow you will find him in Kisumu Kondele playing with kids. Art is a job (Usanii si hype na uceleb na hizi nywele za Eric. Huyu jamaa utamwona hapa saa hii kwa TV akijifanya celeb, kesho utampata Kisumu Kondele akicheza na watoto. Usanii manze ni job). The only thing that you don't have and I keep on saying is a platform," said Chipukeezy.
He went ahead to advice young artistes to put in more hard work in their careers instead of being hungry for fame and celebrity status.
According to the former Churchill Show comedian, young artistes should think in terms of what lies ahead in future instead of concentrating a lot on the present.
Chipukeezy's sentiments come at a time when his fellow comedian Eric Omondi is under accusations of extorting money from Madini Classic who is an upcoming musician.
Chipukeezy who also doubles up as a NACADA director is known for providing a platform to upcoming artistes through his show.
