A 46-year old man from Mbarwari in Embu County, who committed suicide, left a note behind requesting to be buried in a cow shade and without a casket.
Paul Njoroge reportedly went to his in-laws and killed three cows which he had given as dowry before hanging himself in yet again another bizarre incident in the county.
in a suicide note recovered by family members, Njoroge, a part from warning them against burying him in a casket, demanded that locals should not contribute towards his burial expenses.
According to area Chief Dominic Njeru, Njoroge had also set his small shop on fire using petrol.
"It is really shocking that he could do all those things at once. Killing cows, settling shop able and even killing himself. He even left behind a suicide note which is with the family," he told the Daily Nation.
"He does not want people to contribute towards his burial expenses and also demands that he is buried in a cow shade without and without a casket," he added.
Muminji Ward Administrator Njeru Nyaga claims that the deceased was respected in his village and was one of the well off person economically.
