Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman Issack Hassan has said he is ready to accept any political settlement between Jubilee and Cord on the Commission's future.
Hassan called on the political players to reach an agreement faster so as to enable the Commission plan for 2017 general election adequately.
The IEBC boss at the same time pleaded with the government and opposition not to disband the body, saying it would negatively affect 2017 polls.
"I will strongly advice against that route. I hope they don't go that route but if it is a political solution, we are Kenyans and we shall see how it plays out,” he said on Monday.
"It would not be the first time a commission is being disbanded. We will cross the bridge when we come to it," he added.
His recent comments shows the commissioners have softened their earlier stance that they will not resign despite pressure from Cord.
Cord wants the nine commissioners out of office before next year's election.
They claim the commissioners are planning to rig the elections to favour Jubilee.
