Coast ODM rebels facing disciplinary action after defecting to Jubilee have dared party leader Raila Odinga to call for by-elections.

Led by Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro, the leaders said they are prepared to face any disciplinary action from the party, arguing that they do not regret ditching ODM.

Addressing residents at Mryachakwe village in Ganze on Monday, Munga’ro said he will support the 10 politicians who were expelled from the party, adding that he is waiting for his lawyer to advise him on whether he should face the ODM disciplinary committee or not.

Other leaders from the Coast who were expelled from ODM include Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya, Likoni MP Masoud Mwahima and Kwale woman representative Zainab Chidzuga.

“We shall follow our lawyer’s directions, and listen to his advice on whether to face the committee. This has been a separation period. If there will be a divorce, the announcement will be made when the time comes,” said Mung’aro, as quoted by The Star.

Speaking at a different event, Chidzuga said she was still the Kwale woman rep, because she was elected by the people.

“I have been working according to the ODM manifesto of serving people and exercising my democratic right of freedom of expression and association,” said Chidzuga.
