Commission Chairman Otiende Amolo has said irrespective of corruption being a major challenge in the country, President Kenyatta has treated it lightly and has chosen to fight it 'part time'.

Speaking in Kisumu on Thursday when he officially opened a two day training for county officers on handling public complaints, Mr Otiende asked the President to take the war seriously in order to save the country's economy.

"Today Kenya has part time commissioners in the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC). How would such a serious matter be handled part time?" posed Otiende.

He said the time left for the commissioners while out of duty may entice them to engage in corruption themselves, adding that the commissioners need to be given adequate time to handle the many corruption cases.

"Our work is to ensure administrative justice and we have been informing the President on where he goes wrong. We have previously had of complaints against EACC commissioners or officials, and we promise to make sure the right thing is done," added Otiende.

The training brought together officers from the county government aimed at acquiring knowledge-based service delivery so as to ensure the public get their administrative rights.
