Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi on Sunday revisited the Goldenberg scandal.
In an interview with K24's Anne Kiguta, Mudavadi said that he never walked away with a single shilling belonging to the taxpayer.
Mudavadi said that scandal, which was executed in the early between 1991 and 1993, had nothing to do him.
He affirmed that he is innocent and he has never been implicated over the same.
"My conscience was very clear and I had nothing to do with the Goldenberg scandal. For three years, I was out of the system. There was no way I could influence anything," he said.
Mudavadi, who is among the potential successors of President Uhuru Kenyatta after 2022, also urged members of the public to read more about the report of the scandal so that they can stop peddling lies over the same with immediate effect.
"It may be very useful for very many people to read the Goldenberg report. I am the one who stopped those processes and ordered the Pricewaterhouse report," he said.
The Luhya political kingpin further said that the scandal occurred at a time he was yet to enter the government, adding that he is only a victim of circumstances.
"The whole issue about Goldenberg was a govt policy instituted long before I was the minister of Finance. When I came in, I ended the export compensation scheme," he added.
