Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has refuted claims that he's Mr fix it for Deputy President William Ruto.
For over two years now, Murkomen has risen within the ranks to be Ruto's main ally as the race for 2022 presidential polls heats up.
In 2015, Ruto lobbied for appointment of Murkomen as Deputy Majority Leader before taking the current position in 2017.
But Murkomen now says the DP depends on advise from many people, adding that he's not the only person who is consulted.
“I am not the only person around the DP. There are so many people that he relies on. But for now, let that not be an issue; let’s focus on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) first,” he said.
Murkomen is currently lobbying for the Building Bridges Initiative report but he has been accused of trying to create divisions within government.
On Friday, he named nine counties where they intend to hold their first round of rallies, which he said will help sensitise people about the BBI. Murkomen said that the rallies will not be parallel but an addition to the ongoing ones.
"There are no parallel rallies. There can only be one BBI rally at a time and there are no better organisers than others," Murkomen said in a swipe at the pro-Uhuru and Raila troops.
