Controversial Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has begun the process of adopting a malnourished baby in Baringo.
Speaking to members of the press on Monday at a children's home in Baringo, the outspoken legislator said that he and members of his family had been moved by the plight of the baby.
He said that the move was motivated by compassion and not by politics.
"Our big plan was to be given the chance to adopt the one-and-a-half-year-old girl to be be our child. (Lakini mipango yetu kubwa ilikuwa kama tunaweza pata nafasi tuchukue huyo msichana mdogo wa miaka moja na nusu awe mtoto wetu)," the Kapseret lawmaker said.
"But according to the law, we have asked the lady here, we have found that there is a process that we must follow and we will start the oprocess immediately (Lakini kulingana na sheria, tumeuliza huyu mama hapa, tumepata kuna process lazima tufuate na hiyo process tutaanza immediately)," he added.
The move reveals the other other said of the legislator who has a reputation for being brutal in his criticism of those unfortunate enough to cross his path.
Oscar Sudi, who rose from a poor background, encouraged children at a children's home and asked them not to give up home.
