Machakos County MCAs should stop being crying babies and instead effectively serve their electorates, says Kinanie Ward MCA hopeful James Mwanza.
Speaking at Makilili Primary School in Mavoko sub-county on Monday, Mwanza said several MCA’s who had failed to deliver already fear for their re-elections in 2017.
Mwanza said the county legislatures had started hatching lies to their electorates blaming their failures on the Machakos government’s executive.
“All the sitting MCAs should agitate for development in their respective wards, it is high time they stopped making noise about Governor Alfred Mutua’s poor leadership,” said Mwanza.
He said each of the MCAs will be judged by the electorates on development track records during their quests for re-election in the next polls.
Mwanza said those leaders complaining about the county’s executive should stop doing so because it will not transform their wards developmentwise.
He said they should implement their 2013 campaigns manifestos that saw their elections to the county assembly.
Mwanza said majority of the MCAs blaming the governor on their failures now are the same who had been dining with him over the last three years.
He said they were changing tacts because they were losing ground given that Mutua was no longer popular in their respective wards across the county.
“I advise the MCAs to carry their own crosses, they should not start complaining now just because next elections are nearing,” said Mwanza.
Mwanza said the MCAs were not genuine in their reasons for falling out with the governor.
Last Tuesday, Mlolongo MCA Rachael Ndambuki condemned Mutua’s leadership style terming it dictatorial.
Ndambuki said she had parted ways with the governor because he had made her fail in implementing her 2013 campaigns manifesto.
The MCA said she regrets working closely with the executive for the three years.
Mwanza said the MCAs should be ready to be voted out by residents in 2017.
