Taita-Taveta County Senator Dan Mwazo has challenged ODM Party leader Raila Odinga to honour the pre-election Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed by the three CORD co-principals.
Speaking on Saturday during a public rally organised by the Wiper Party leadership, Mwazo endorsed Kalonzo Musyoka for presidency, saying the former vice president was best suited to fly the CORD presidential flag.
“Mr Kalonzo called and informed me that he was touring the county to seek for votes and that is why I am accompanying him to tell the electorate that he is the best candidate for the presidency,” he said.
“I was party to the pre-election deal and Raila should honour it for the sake of the coalition’s stability and survival,” he added.
Mwazo said in the agreement signed by the coalition's co-principals, Raila was meant to support Kalonzo's bid for presidency in 2017, to reciprocate the support he received from Kalonzo and his Kamba supporters in 2013.
The senator, however, maintained that he was an ODM member.
