A 29-year-old pharmacist suspected to have killed his wife was arraigned before a Nakuru High Court on Wednesday and charged with murder.
Willis Kimutai Konga, a father of two is accused of killing Florence Korir, his wife of seven years at Poror area in Baringo County on June 3.
The accused who appeared before Justice Anthony Ndung’u pleaded not guilty to the offence and was later released on a bond of Sh500,000 and a surety of the same amount.
Relatives allege that Konga attempted to conceal the murder by dropping the body of the wife in the middle of the road for motorists to run over her and look like an accident.
Konga was arrested by police officers after he claimed that the wife had jumped off the family vehicle and her head crushed on the tarmac road which led to her death something which was not convincing making him a prime suspect.
The accused is alleged to have had an argument with the wife and before hitting her with a blunt object where she died on the spot before stripping her naked so as to clear the evidence.
According to the police, the deceased had deep cuts on the head and later recovered a metal bar and some cloths of the deceased which was soaked in blood a proof he is the main suspect of the offence.
The accused was later released on a bond of sh. 500,000 pending a hearing of the matter on October 5.
