A woman has donated five acres of land for the construction of a police post in Kamulu location, Athi River sub-county.
Faith Kioko said she had donated the land for the construction of the facility due to curb the rising cases of insecurity in the area.
Kioko said the Administration Police post that is apparently in the area is many kilometres away, and therefore cannot effectively serve residents.
She said the post if erected in the area, would help boost the currently available post thereby improving security.
Kioko said the existing Kamulu AP post only has three officers in spite that the area is vast with poor terrain and population.
She said the government should increase the number by at least twoor more officers and provide them with a vehicle so as to make their morbidity more efficient.
"We need to empower our security officers. Kamulu AP post lack a vehicle, they walk whenever they are on patrols," Kioko told journalists in Athi River town on Wednesday.
Kioko said she will soon hand over the title deed that already bears the proposed police post's details to relevant authorities to start the construction process.
She urged the government to speed up the construction so as to help solve the region's security challenges.
Mlolongo assistant county commissioner Kennedy Keraro who welcomed the offer said the government will construct the proposed facility once Kioko submits the title deed.
She assured the residents of enhanced security once the post is erected and becomes fully operational.
