Popular Swahili news anchor Mwanaisha Chidzuga on Wednesday announced her exit from K24 TV after working with the Mediamax owned TV station for 4 years.
Mwanaisha through an Instagram post which came as a surprise to her followers appreciated her fans for supporting her.
She hinted that she might be headed for other projects which might be "bigger" than K24.
“Hi good people, I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support at K24 and K24 Wikendi, but again God has other bigger plans for me away from K24 TV,” Mwanaisha's Instagram post read as quoted by Tuko.co.ke.
She also went ahead to appreciate her colleagues for the wonderful experience that she has had with them. She further revealed that she will make a comeback on another TV station, although she did not go into details as to which TV station she is headed for.
“It has been a great experience for me working with a great team of journalists and the shows I have hosted have been memorable, but now I have to focus on my passion. Soon we will meet again screen next to you. Thank you and be blessed,” She wrote on her Instagram post.
Mwanaisha's resignation comes hot on reports that Mediamax, under which K24 TV falls has laid off over 150 staff that have been declared redundant.
It also comes just a day after Citizen TV news anchor Hussein Mohamed hosted his last show at the station.
