Former Higher Education Minister Margaret Kamar has disclosed why she withdrew from contesting for the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial post and went for Senate one.
As a senator, she said she would have an upper hand in supervising and distributing funds to the County government as a lawmaker.
"It's not that I feared to run for the position but a governor is just like a spanner boy who implement laws made by Senate and MCA's,'' she said during a press conference.
''As a senator I will ensure that we pass legislations that will ensure resources are distributed fairly and transparently in the 47 Counties,'' she added, Wednesday.
The former Minister has been criticised by Uasin Gishu residents for fearing to go for gubernatorial post which she vied for in 2013 and became second after incumbent Jackson Mandago.
Kamar declared she would be seeking to be elected Uasin Gishu senator in the upcoming elections through a Jubilee peaty ticket.
