Thirdway Alliance Party leader Dr Ekuru Aukot has hit back at prominent politicians for dismissing his Punguza Mizigo Initiative.
Speaking on Tuesday in Baringo County after engaging the county's MCAs, Dr Aukot said that politicians from established parties do not have the monopoly of ideas.
Any Kenyan in the country has the liberty to volunteer ideas that can take Kenya forward.
"All of us are Kenyans are Kenyans in equal measure. The constitution of Kenya allows all of us to invoke any of the provisions of the constitution either 256 or 257 to suggest any amendments to the constitution," he said.
Dr Aukot said that the disparagement that his initiative had attracted from prominent politicians would not kill his resolve.
Veteran opposition and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga poured scorn on the initiative and called on Kenyans to wait for the recommendations of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
Amani National Congress (ANC) leader accused Dr Aukot of misleading Kenyans by seeking to equate reduction of political representation to the reduction of the burden on the Kenyan taxpayer.
Garissa Township Member of Parliament, who also doubles up as the leader of the majoprity in the National Assembly, warned North Eastern Kenya MCAs against passing the bill.
