Soy member of Parliament Caleb Kositany has broken his silence on the announcement of the extension of the term of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) Committee.
Speaking on Friday in Trans Nzoia in an event that was graced by Deputy President Dr William Ruto, the outspoken governing Jubilee party legislator welcomed the extension.
He said that it was only proper that the term of the committee was extended because, according to him, ensuring that the members oversee the next phase of the report will not lead to new things being introduced.
"When some people started talking about a committee of experts, we were worried but when the president announced an extension of the term of the committee that was there, we were happy because we know that they will not change things (Iliposememkana juzi kwamba wengine wanatetea wanataka kuleta committee of experts tukakuwa na wasiwasi kidogo lakini rais alipotangaza juzi ya kwamba ameextend ile term ya wale waliandika hiyo report tukasema ni sawa kwa sababu tunaamini wale waliandika hiyo report wakiongeza hawawezi badilisha), " the Soy legislator.
Following the extension, it is now clear that the committee members will steer the next face of the BBI report. The report was launched to members of the public about two weeks ago at the Bomas of Kenya to great fanfare.
