Chief Justice David Maraga has called upon Kenyans to join in the fight against corruption, which he claims takes up to a third of the national budget yearly.
Delivering a sermon at Victory SDA Church in Kisumu on Saturday, the Chief Justice said corruption was getting serious and urged various stakeholders including Christians to join the fight against the vice.
“I want you to re-examine yourself. Are you the stumbling block? Are you using opportunities given to you or the church in propagating social ills instead of making things better?” Maraga said as quoted by Standard.
He urged Kenyans to take a stand against the vice, adding that it is not good to be lukewarm.
“We must not remain lukewarm as Christians. We must stand up to be counted. The Bible says you are either cold or warm. The Lord says if you are lukewarm, he will spit you out,” Maraga pointed out.
The CJ did not, however, comment on the recent wrangles that have been witnessed at the SDA Church.
