The two will wrestle each other in August's polls for Garissa parliamentary seat, with Maalim confident that he will clinch the seat.

Maalim's remarks at the Bomas of Kenya on Wednesday comes after an explosive audio emerged online in which a voice believed to be of Duale, was heard calling for eviction of Kamba community living in Garissa.

"I want to assure you that Duale is a forgotten case. i have dealt with him and I can assure you that he will be the first to lose in August so that he gives us a break," said Maalim.

"He thinks that calling for eviction of a certain community from Garissa will favour him but that is a big lie. We will ensure he is prosecuted and Kenyans get justice," he added.

Maalim, who defected from ODM party, will be vying on a Wiper Democratic Movement ticket while Duale will defend his seat on a Jubilee Party.
