"Kenya as a country hopes that the heavy burden of hosting huge numbers of Somalia refugees will be lifted through a widely coordinated strategy for an orderly and humane repatriation and resettlement of refugees,” she stated in New York.

However, she added that the world has simply looked down on as the parties in the repatriation process struggle to implement the famous Tripartite Agreement meant for the Voluntary return of Dadaab refugees to Somalia.

"We have hosted the largest numbers of refugees in the world for the last three decades and the heavy burdens our country has continued to face remains disproportionate. The international community should now join hands in meeting out the needs of Somalia refugees especially in the provision of basic necessities as well as health and also educational facilities,” she added.

The pleas for more support to countries supporting refugees has been the popular theme of this year’s United Nations General Assembly. Kenyan authorities have used the podium to accuse the richer countries of failing to offer support to the refugees.
