Garissa University students are a worried lot after stray dogs have now inhabited the school compound.
The students claim the dogs are a nuisance and a threat to their safety terming some as very wild adding that it may also be a health risk as they believe the dogs are not vaccinated.
They added that due to the dark hours at night one is likely to tumble over one and may get bitten.
“It is very frightening when you come across a scary dog especially at night and it may attack you. Some are very stubborn and lie on the pathways and efforts to chase them may be futile,” said Tashley Kanda.
The dogs are said to scavenge for food from the school as most of the community members do not feed the dogs. They are now calling upon the community to take responsibility and restrain their dogs.
“We would like the surrounding community to refrain the dogs which is a nuisance to us,” said Billy Ondiso.
