The office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko has won a Financial Reporting (FiRe) award for being one of the most improved public sector entities in financial reporting in East Africa.
The award was presented to the ODPP’s head of Accounting Division Ms Rose Baraza by the Director General of Accounting and Quality Assurance Services at the National Treasury Bernard Ndung’u, during a colourful ceremony held recently at The Windsor Hotel.
The award, which was established 14 years ago, seeks to promote integrated reporting through enhancing accountability, transparency and integrity - in compliance with appropriate financial reporting framework and other disclosures on governance, social and environmental reporting by private and public sectors institutions in East Africa.
The annual Award is organised by the Public Sector Accounting Standards Board, Capital Markets Authority, Nairobi Securities Exchange and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.
