As political realignments continue taking shape, deputy president William Ruto's position as the Rift Valley region kingpin is hanging in a precarious position thanks to re-awakening of his sworn political enemy Gideon Moi.
The BBI team is now planning to take the battle to Ruto"s home turf. The self-declared hustler is allegedly facing stiff opposition from "dynasties " who are reportedly joining hands to block him from ascending to presidency come 2022.
Gideon Moi, a local rival of William Ruto is rumoured to be the next Senate's majority leader. A position currently held by Ruto's close ally Senator Kipchumba Murkomen who experts believe is crippling the president's agendas.
Leaders allied to Tanga Tanga movement have lately been bashed, frustrated by their cronies from Kieleweke movement. According to pundits, these developments are meant to sink deputy president to whom Murkomen is a great ally.
Baringo senator Gideon Moi has also been appointed as BBI point man in Rift Valley region, a region where William Ruto enjoys massive following.
Gideon will be in charge of BBI activities including rallies in expansive Rift Valley region. This will undoubtedly spark political waves in the region where Ruto has hitherto enjoyed a massive following.
The government's move of appointing Gideon Moi as the region's point man in spearheading BBI initiative is an acid test to William Ruto.
Traversing the vast region will challenge Ruto's monopoly in Rift Valley and the region will possibly have a new kingpin.
