Businesses came into standstill on Tuesday evening when controversial Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati made his way into Kibra constituency.
Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has scheduled November 7th for the by-election, precipitated by the death of Ken Okoth.
Tasked to campaign for the ODM candidate Imran Okoth, Mr Arati made several stopovers, accompanied by hundreds of bodaboda riders.
Arati, who has denied planning and executing violence in Kibra, said ODM will win convincingly, adding that 'it will be the beginning of good things'.
"We have been in the system for long and I am watching keenly. We cannot allow them to score in Kibra. This is the cornerstone of ODM," he said.
Arati's entry thrilled a section of party officials, who lauded his 'magnificent mobilisation skills' within and outside of the capital Nairobi.
"Hon Hon Simba Arati entry into Kibra this evening to drum up support for our Party candidate Benard Otieno Okoth," said Tony Moturi, ODM lawyer.
"Dagoretti North MP Hon Paul Simba Arati is someone to watch keenly post 2022, his mobilization skills is only comparable to his mentor. He is working in total silence to deliver Kibra seat, respect Sir and keep doing the right thing," added Philip Nyamai of Raila Odinga's Capitol Hill office.
Imran is facing stiff competition from McDonald Mariga of Jubilee party, Eliud Owalo of Amani National Congress party and Eng Ramadhan Khamisi of Ford Kenya.
