There are now questions on who is to be blamed following the delayed burial of two bodies of children who perished in a clay excavation disaster three weeks ago in Monyeroro ward Kisii county due to lack of funds .
Ironically the county government of Kisii has got a disaster management kitty which can help in such problems but nothing has been done.
In addition the area Member of County assembly has never helped the family even by mobilising fellow MCAs to lend their hand in these difficult situations.
Now the families of the two children have called upon the two governments to help them clear the post mortem bills and funeral expenses.
I am wondering where is the governments when the area MCAs also calls for the help from well wishers, who does the disaster management kitty help?
Jared Mosongo a father to one of the deceased who spoke to the media said the families could not raise the Sh30,000 among other funeral expenses hence applied for well wishers to help them.
However, they stated that residents had since organised a fundraiser in which they raised Sh15,000 with the area MCA providing two vehicles for transportation of the bodies.
He added that county disaster management office was dragging its feet in assisting them.
