Kiambu County Governor’s security team has been accused of intimidating a radio journalist in Thika for allegedly reporting negative stories regarding the governor’s administration.
Kameme FM' Rose Mwangi claims to have received the fears while covering an event of Kabogo, who was giving out cheques of Biashara Fund to women groups at Thika stadium last week.
Speaking to this writer, Mwangi claimed that she was selected by one of the Governor's security team who cautioned her of dire consequences.
"We were recording the governor's speech when they drew near us and said we should leave. They blamed us of writing negative stories about Kabogo. One of them then jagged at me saying: ‘Tutawamaliza kabla mtumalize. Mnataka kutuharibia?’ stated Mwangi.
Rose added that the bodyguards accused reporters of dissemination negative stories concerning the county boss.
The middle aged reporter has recorded the matter at Thika police station under OB No 55/16/06/2016 as she fears for her life.
Kabogo was under fire after he allegedly said that Deputy President William Ruto would not get votes from the Central region in 2022 to become the President.
Kabogo and Ruto however suppressed the hatchet when they met in Nakuru and shared the same dais.
