While addressing Kenyans on Wednesday via his official social media account, the former Prime Minister said the only way for the country to truly succeed is through love and appreciation of the differences and not through hate.

Odinga emphasized his message by quoting Martin Luther King Junior words:"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate;only love can do that."

The message comes barely a day after CORD principals led by Raila Odinga hosted Moses Kuria and other MPs accused of hate speech to a luncheon.

The Gatundu MP had been accused of hate speech captured in a video making inflammatory and inciteful remarks targeting Raila. Their meeting has been applauded by a majority of Kenyans who saw it as a positive gesture toward ending tribal temperatures.
