Kilome MP Regina Ndambuki has now revealed the key reason why she ditched Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper party and joined President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party.
Ndambuki says that she left Wiper party because of Machakos senator Johnson Muthama.
The Kilome MP accuses senator Muthama of working against Wiper party ideologies and at the same time pretending to be Kalonzo Musyoka’s key ally and confidant.
Speaking during an interview on KTN on Sunday, Ndambuki claimed that Muthama does not support Wiper ideologies.
“Senator Muthama does not support Wiper ideologies and is only in the party to satisfy his personal interests,” she claimed.
The Kilome MP further alleged that most rebels who ditched Kalonzo’s party did so because of alleged Muthama’s hypocrisy and betrayal.
The lawmaker now wants Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka to distance himself from the Machakos senator.
“Kalonzo should quickly tame Muthama if he has the ambition of remaining the Kamba political kingpin and advancing his political interests,” she said.
The MP alleged that Muthama is only serving the interests of Cord leader Raila Odinga.
On Saturday during a rally in Taita Taveta, Kalonzo publicly differed with senator Muthama.
Kalonzo accused senator Muthama of allegedly sabotaging his 2017 presidential bid.
The Wiper leader claimed that Muthama is working closely with his Siaya counterpart James Orengo to deny him chance of being Cord's flag bearer.
Kalonzo’s statement allegedly saw Muthama abandon the Wiper rally and returned to Nairobi.
Muthama, a key ally of Kalonzo has been defending the Wiper leader against claims that he wants to join Jubilee party.
Kalonzo’s statement has exposed indications that there could be cracks in the Wiper party.
Sources close to Muthama on Sunday claimed that the senator will today (Monday) make an official statement in regards to Kalonzo’s claims.
