Deputy President William Ruto wants Kenyans to remain calm amid the intensifying push for constitutional changes, with the country currently having two of such.

On one hand is the Punguza Mizigo bill which seeks to reduce elective seats and on the other hand, is the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) one which intends to expand the government.

Addressing the same during the burial of prominent Trans Nzoia farmer Bibiwot Koros in Cherangany, the DP urged Kenyans remain united despite the rival pushes.

He called upon Kenyans to keenly look into the proposals being made before making their pick but noted that each side must be given an ear and consideration.

"Everyone must be heard. No one has superior views than the other on this issue," said the DP, whose allies have been bashing ODM boss Raila Odinga-backed BBI on grounds that it seeks to accommodate poll losers.

Earlier in the week, MCAs from Uasin Gishu County became the first to pass the Punguza Mizigo bill.

This came shortly after his allies, led by National Assembly Majority Whip Benjamin Washiali, vowed to back it.

His boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta, appears to be in agreement with Raila on the need for a bigger and more inclusive government.
