A bodaboda rider in Chebilat, Borabu District in Nyamira County lost his motorbike after thugs attacked him.
The rider, Hassan Nyamwange said he was returning home at 1am on Tuesday morning when thugs attacked him as he entered his compound.
"The thugs attacked me in front of my gate. My efforts to fight them in self defence did not yield fruits because they overpowered me and escaped with my motorbike Registration No. KMEK-C178D," said frustrated Nyamwange.
Nyamwange noted that he raised alarm to attract the public who chased the thugs but in vain.
"Together with members of the public we have searched the motorbike in Ekerenyo, Kibirigo and Mokomoni areas in vain. I call upon police officers in Borabu Sub-County to intensify search so that I can get my stolen motorbike," he added.
The rider argued that he bought the motorbike on loan and he is now unable to repay.
Area police boss Michael Lesmum confirmed the incident and assured that police have launched a search to recover the motorbike.
"Security officers are doing everything possible to recover the motorbike," said Lesmum.
