President Uhuru Kenyatta has named three things the late Bob Collymore loved dearly. Collymore who died on Monday morning, was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Safaricom.
While eulogizing him during a memorial service at the All Saints Cathedral Church, Nairobi on Thursday, the Head of State said that Collymore loved four things but he only named three.
“There are three things Bob loved. A fourth one I can say but I will not mention it here,” stated the President.
“I am certain Bob loved Kenya. He loved it as his home country. Bob loved Safaricom as if it was his own, and Bob loved his wife and his children dearly. Like I said, the fourth one I won’t mention, but some of you here know what it is,” said the President.
Collymore who was Guyanese-British, died on Monday after suffering from Leukemia since 2017. Until his death, he was the CEO of Safaricom a position he took from his predecessor Michael Joseph in 2010.
Joseph has since succeeded him, whilst in an acting capacity until a permanent replacement is named.
Collymore’s body was cremated at Nairobi’s Kariokor cemetery on Tuesday.
He lives behind a wife; Wambui Kamiru Collymore and four children.
