Kisii county employees vying for elective posts in the next general election have been urged to resign before February 7th according to the constitution.
According to the report written by Kisii county secretary Johnston Ndege, the employees should resign 6 months before the election is conducted i line with the constitution.
“Employees who need to join politics and who want to vie for elective posts should step down for their campaigns 6 months before an election,” said Ndege.
"Let them step down before February 7, 2017, and I should have their resignation letters in my office," he added.
In Kisii county, rumors have been making rounds that many of the county employees desire to contest for various political posts in the next general election which will be held on August 8, 2017.
